CONFIGURING ACCESS:

Before DBViewer can access database some configuration is required.

Click “Database” -> “ConfigureAccess” menu

MySQL Server Configuration:

Source Name – IP Address or Server Name of MySQL Database Server;

User Name – User Name to connect to MySQL;

Password – Password To Connect to MySQL;

MySQL – Database Name which you will be connecting to.

Select Dbase Type check box with MySQL label.

Oracle Server Configuration:

Source Name – Oracle Data Source configured within Oracle Client;

User Name – User Name to connect to Oracle DataSource;

Password – Password To Connect To Oracle Database;

MySQL field is ignored.

Select Dbase Checkbox with Oracle as a label.

Example of configuration for accessing MySQL Database:

Take a look at the following MySQL Database Admin Window, which displays the Server Name, and MySQL database name.

To connect to the above database (webstat) I would use the following configuration:

Please also mention the name of the Database Table in “webstat” Database “tb1002” – we will need it later in the following example of one of the DBViewer tool features.

Once configured properly with MySQL Server name, User, Password and the default database to connect to, click Exit.
